About Adrián, founder of Feeling Africa
Born and raised in Havana, Cuba, Adrián is a performing dancer, dance teacher, and industrial engineer. He graduated from Havana’s University of Technologies José Antonio Echeverria in 2012 where he specialized in logistics. His career in dance began in 2007 when he started performing at dance festivals in his university.
In 2011, he began his career as a dance instructor at ViaDanza. From 2015 to 2017. He was an instructor of the MetaMovements Latin Dance Company from Boston, which organizes various events and festivals in Cuba. Since 2016, Adrián is working as a permanent instructor at La Casa Del Son in Old Havana, one of Havana’s best dance schools. He also teaches at Casa Del Son’s annual RitmoCuba dance festival in April. Adrián teaches Cuban Salsa, Son, Cha Cha Cha, Fusion, Rumba, Bachata and Kizomba.
Feeling Africa is one of Adrián’s current projects. In 2017, Adrián first traveled to South Africa and came in contact with the unique vibes of the country. He had the opportunity to teach at a local dance school and present Cuban dances in South Africa.
